St. Catherine University: Moodle

The server that houses this Moodle had a hardware failure on Monday that's created some problems with some of the storage it uses. Moodle is and should continue to be unaffected by the problem, but this server will be offline for short periods today (May 11th) while we diagnose and attempt to repair the problem.

Any shutdown shouldn't last more than 30 minutes, and I'll make sure to notify everyone before taking Moodle down for a longer period. If Moodle is unavailable when you try to use it today, please come back later and it should be fine.

The department's web server is now sitting comfortably on a rack in the University's server room and everything seems to be working fine and dandy! This is especially nice because the rails that come with the server didn't fit very comfortably--that is to say "at all"--in the rack that had some space in it so we had to do a little modification. Honestly that's kind of a treat, because there are precious few opportunities to go at something with an angle grinder when you work in IT.

As far as I can tell everything's humming along nicely, but feel free to report any errors or problems with services on the machine as you encounter them.
